Dear {{Preferred Name}},
February has been an incredibly busy month for our team, but we are so thankful!
- Thankful to live out our purpose and serve others in Jesus' name.
- Thankful for our Reservists, donors, and prayer partners who fuel our work.
- Thankful that lives are being changed, one disaster relief project at a time. π
Today, we have quick updates on where our team has been serving and new disasters you can pray for this week. Thanks for being here! |
βοΈ The Ice Storm in Our Own Backyard
In Middle Tennessee where Hope Force is based, the damage from Winter Storm Fern was overwhelming. Power was out for hundreds of thousands of people, and the snapped trees and downed power lines looked like a tornado had come through town!
Thanks to our Reservists and donors, Hope Force helped 27 homeowners throughout Middle Tennessee. With chainsaws and work gloves, our teams hauled massive piles of branches and brought hope to those in need. |
From widows living alone, to elderly couples without the means or capacity to clean up the mess themselves, we were so honored to help where we could. Thank you to everyone who gave and volunteered for the Winter Storm Fern response! |
π A Blessed Home & A Bright Future |
February 6th was a very special day as we blessed the "Hope Home" in Seminole, OK that we've been working on for a very long time! π
The Tilleys, a wonderful family of 7, finally received the keys to their new home and can now say goodbye to their old home that was severely damaged by 2022 tornadoes. |
Together with the City of Seminole, local churches and businesses, and even the Oklahoma City Thunder (who gifted a custom jersey), Hope Force was thrilled to bless the Tilleys' new home and their new chapter of life!
We want to congratulate our amazing Director of Hope Force Seminole, Brian Wagner, for overseeing this project, and say THANK YOU to the 65 Reservists and many donors who contributed to this house! You made hope possible, and we're so grateful. π |
We ♥οΈ Our Reservist Family! |
We had a great Q1 Reservist Connection Call on February 10th with our Reservist family. We learned more about our "Culture of Care" from our founders, Jack and Cherie Minton, received deployment packing tips, and enjoyed saying "hi" to old and new friends. |
|
If you're not a Reservist yet but want to get trained, we'd love for you to join our ranks!

β Reservist Spotlight: Amelia Veara |
Here's a quick spotlight on our newest (and youngest!) Reservist, Amelia. She's in her final semester at Gordon College in Massachusetts, where she's from, and will graduate with a degree in Christian Ministries.
She recently served in the Winter Storm Fern response, jumping into the freezing conditions wholeheartedly to help homeowners in need. β€οΈ |
|
For anyone preparing for their first deployment, she shares this encouragement:
“Be excited! God will walk with you through the unknown! You will meet some really awesome people!”
When asked how serving with Hope Force has impacted her faith, Amelia says:
“Serving is a result of a relationship with Christ. It is a sign of our love for Him, and He has prepared our acts of service for us in advance. Serving has brought me closer to the Lord and His love.”
We’re so grateful for leaders like Amelia and can’t wait to see how God continues to use the next generation of Reservists. |
Prayer Requests π
- Wildfires in OK & KS: Please pray for the homeowners, ranch owners, and first responders in Oklahoma and Kansas who are fighting deadly wildfires this week. Over 300,000 acres have already burned in the dry, windy conditions, and we are praying for relief from the flames!
- Flooding in Portugal: Weeks of relentless Atlantic storms brought heavy rainfall and widespread flooding across Portugal. Rivers have overflowed, roads are washed out, and families are working to regain stability after evacuations and extended disruption. Pray for affected families, local leaders, and the long process of rebuilding homes and infrastructure.
- Ongoing work in Haiti: Pray for our ongoing work in Haiti. The communities there are struggling, and your prayers and donations toward food distributions, child sponsorships, and latrine-building truly changes lives! If you want to learn more or make a gift, visit our Haiti page on our website.
|
There is so much to pray about, but much to be thankful for as we wrap up February. Together, let's keep looking for ways to serve our neighbors and bring hope in the darkest moments.
With hope, Hope Force International
