After months of no major Atlantic hurricanes, October brought the storms we had feared. 💔
From Hurricane Melissa in the Caribbean to widespread, deadly flooding across Mexico, millions of survivors need practical help and hope right now. Today, we're sharing how Hope Force is responding and how you can pray and support..jpg)
HURRICANE MELISSA: Jamaica's strongest storm in history
Melissa landed in Jamaica this week as a Category 5 and brought devastating winds and flooding to other islands like Haiti, Cuba, and the Bahamas. Hope Force has trusted contacts in several of these areas, and we've sent an advance team to Jamaica to find a path to help. |
|
Hospitals, roads, airports, and power systems are all severely damaged, and there will be desperate need for both medical and construction relief work. As we wait on details, here's how you can make a difference today: |
GIVE: With a disaster this size, we anticipate resources for this deployment to cost around $50,000. Your donation now helps Hope Force respond without delay as soon as we have a clear path. |
PRAY:
-
For protection and strength for those impacted, especially those who have lost loved ones and homes
-

HOPE FORCE MEXICO: Helping flood survivors rebuild
Our Hope Force Mexico team has been working incredibly hard following the catastrophic flooding this month.
Thousands of families in Poza Rica and Alamo, Veracruz are still struggling with crippling mud and debris. Many do not have access to clean water, and life in their communities is still upside down with no end in sight. This video shows a small glimpse of the overwhelming damage. 💔 |
Hope Force will be responding to this disaster for a long time, and our Mexico team needs extra support as they shovel mud, tarp roofs, and care for survivors in Jesus' name. Please pray, and please give to keep this crucial work going! |
HOPE FORCE HAITI: Keeping hope alive in hard places
This month, Hope Force Haiti Director Rene Lako made another journey to Haiti involving planes, buses, borders, a boat, and finally his truck—to continue our long-term relief efforts there.
Rene collected updates from children in our Child Sponsorship Program to send to their sponsors, and distributed many books for school. He also worked with ministry partners on a community food distribution event that fed hundreds of people. |
We're so thankful Rene returned safely to the U.S. just before Hurricane Melissa hit, but our hearts break for the continued suffering that Haiti is facing. Melissa brought catastrophic flooding that took lives and forced thousands of people into emergency shelters... the cycle of desperate need has begun again. 💔
🙏 Please pray for safety, provision, and perseverance for our Haiti team and the people they serve. And please give to support our long-term work in Haiti, which will be even more needed in the coming months. |
SEMINOLE, OKLAHOMA: Restoring hope, one roof at a time
Earlier this month, Hope Force Reservists, alongside an amazing volunteer team from Grace Church, Minnesota, helped homeowners rebuild after tornadoes caused widespread damage in 2022.
Volunteers braved the 90-degree heat to repair roofs and get things done for homeowners who have been struggling in broken-down houses for far too long. Watch a quick recap of our week in Seminole below. |
From hurricane winds to flooding rains, Hope Force is showing up to bring help, hope, and a comforting presence to those in crisis. Your continued prayers, support, and love make it possible for us to respond quickly when disaster strikes. We can't do this without you!
Until next month, Hope Force International 💙 |
