Hope Force Monthly Newsletter

Dear {{Preferred Name}},

July has been full of bringing hope to survivors near and far. We've had teams serving in Venezuela, Louisiana, and West Virginia this whole month.

Amidst all the moving pieces, we are grateful that YOU are part of the Hope Force family. Here are the ways you've helped us bring hope after disaster this month...

Stories From the Field

Bringing Hope In Venezuela

Our team in Venezuela has had amazing opportunities to care for survivors this month.

First, our medically-trained Hope Force Mexico Reservists, Zuri and Querit, partnered with local health professionals at a clinic, helping nearly 100 women receive testing and consultations. It was an honor to serve these women who have endured so much this past month, and to serve alongside people who are working hard for their community right now.

Next, our team visited a camp where hundreds of survivors are living in makeshift tents. Our team was able to provide Emotional Spiritual Care and hand out needed supplies to children and families.

Finally, the team continues to pave the way for desperately needed orthopedic care.

Please keep praying for God's provision in Venezuela! The people there are so strong, but are still in desperate need of help and hope.

If you're a medical or mental health professional, we want you to join us in Venezuela! Please let us know if you are interested by filling out the form below.

And you can serve the people of Venezuela from right where you are by giving.

Current Disaster Response

Flood Response in Buckhannon, West Virginia

It's been 9 days since severe flooding hit north-central West Virginia, and our team of Reservists is on the ground in Buckhannon.

This is a critical window for critical work. Homes need to be mucked out before mold takes over. While the Buckhannon community is very proactive and stepping up for its neighbors, we still need more hands to keep pace with the work.

Our Reservists are staying at a local church, and we have room for more! We have electricity and a full kitchen, so we're also looking for someone who can cook and help keep our crew fed.

Based on what we're seeing on the ground, we expect to need Reservists between now and August 6–8. If you're available, this is a great week to serve.

Can't deploy this time? Give to this response and pray for this community!

Hope Force Service Week - West Virginia

Restoring a Widow's Home in McDowell County, WV

Our Reservists wrapped up another Service Week in War, West Virginia, where Hope Force has been serving since 2009. McDowell County deals with chronic need and frequent flooding, and each week that our volunteers help this community changes lives.

This time, our team worked on home repairs for a widow whose house of 50 years had taken serious damage from this year's rain.

We installed new flooring, a drop ceiling, window and door trim, a new toilet and sink, and landscaping work she couldn't have tackled alone. The team also gave some care to our team house by painting, landscaping, and patching up critter holes, so that future teams have a solid place to rest after long days on the job site.

YMCA of East Tennessee · Knoxville, TN

From Willing to Ready: Our YMCA Partnership

Our new partnership with the YMCA of East Tennessee is already showing what's possible for the impact we can make together. At the first Hope Force training hosted at the Knoxville YMCA, eight members and community volunteers completed Reservist training.

Since then, three have taken their training further. Two completed advanced chainsaw training, and another attended Grief After Trauma training before signing up for his first deployment.

The numbers are small so far, but each person represents someone equipped to serve, a community strengthened, and the beginning of what we believe can become a movement of prepared volunteers. 🙌

Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana: Deployment Complete

Our flood response in Louisiana finished this month, and our team is grateful for the relationships built with residents recovering from flooding caused by Tropical Storm Arthur in June.

In a community that could have easily been overlooked, Hope Force volunteers helped families clean out and recover flood-damaged homes, offering practical help and encouragement in a difficult season.

Before We Go...

Please keep praying with us for:

  • Flood-affected families in West Virginia
  • The children in our Child Sponsorship Program in Haiti
  • God's wisdom and sustaining power to fuel our teams around the world

We believe God has a hope and a future for every single disaster survivor, and we're asking Him to open doors for our teams to bring practical help and the truth that they are deeply loved.

Thank you for being part of this mission. We'll see you next month!
